Detroit Breeding Ground was an exhibition and panel discussion
hosted by the Museum of New Art
in Pontiac, MI during the fall
of 2009. The exhibition featured
the sculptural works of seven
Detroit artists, and asked viewers
to consider the bigger question: Why sculpture in Detroit?
The publication serves as a companion resource to the exhibition and panel, consisting of multiple texts and images from various writers, critics, artists and patrons of the Detroit arts community. It is intended to exemplify the diverse viewpoints on the state of sculpture and art-making within the Detroit social landscape.
